Today's entry is Soundwave from The Transformers.

Screw Optimus Prime. Soundwave's the coolest Transformer ever, and anyone who thinks different is flat out wrong.

Ha! Controversy!

But seriously, Soundwave is just plain awesome. Far more competent and much less power hungry than stinky ol' Starscream, he made the perfect second in command. I have no doubt that if he'd actually taken control of the Decepticons as a whole for more than short periods of time, the Autobots would've been wiped out in no time flat.

And that voice! While the vast majority of the Transformers sounded basically human, Soundwave was the only one that sounded like a stereotypical robot, and that served to also make him sound the most threatening. No humanity. No emotion. No mercy. Just cold monotone and a smackdown - verbal or otherwise.

Also super-cool: turning into a tape player.

Relatedly super-cool: having cassettes in his chest that could also turn into robots.

Mega-ultra-cool: the Soundwave MP3 Player, which both turns into Soundwave and also plays MP3s fo reals!
